Participation in the 9th International Scientific Meeting "Covid-19 Challenges and Consequences" held in Brcko district, BiH.

As the representatives of SPE and SEG student chapters of the Technical faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” in Zrenjanin, we have received an opportunity to present our papers on the 28th of May, at the 9th International Scientific Meeting named “Covid 19 – Challenges and Consequences” organized by the European University Brcko District and European University “Kallos” Tuzla.

Thanks to huge efforts and mentoring by our professor Snezana Komatina, seven student papers which analyzed the impact of Covid 19 on the energy sector were presented. The papers were written by Đorđe Maroš, Aleksandar Radičev, Branislava Radišić, Milica Stojanović, Miloš Aćimović, Dejan Bajić and Đurica Surla.

To all of our amazement and joy, we received an Exclusive treatment in Brcko district from our friend Tomo Obrenovic, Chief of the Department for public register of the Government of Brcko district. During the 3 days of our stay, we had transportation, food, and many activities provided. We also had an opportunity to visit an LPG terminal where we were able to learn more about the transportation and distribution of LPG and the necessary equipment for these operations.

We are extremely thankful for the hospitality we received from our hosts at Brcko disctrict, and this is an experience which we will certainly cherish in our memories. Hopefully, we will be able to visit our friends once again during the next year!

Books gifted to us by our friend

Maksim Nazarenko from LUKOIL

April 2nd, 2021

We would like to share with everyone how honored and thankful we are to our great friend Maksim Nazarenko for giving us such an amazing gift!

We have received many copies of a book "Применение методов машинного обучения для вероятностного прогноза добычи нефти" or in English “Application of Machine Learning for Probabilistic Oil Production Forecasting” by Maksim Nazarenko co-authored with Professor Zolotukhin A.B.

The book addresses the main issues related to the quantitative assessment of risks and uncertainties in the production forecast and the calculation of estimated ultimate recovery (the quantity of oil and gas that is potentially recoverable) in waterflooded oil fields using machine learning methods and models of displacement curves.

Maksim has worked on this book for many years, during his professional career in LUKOIL and while pursuing M.Sc. Petroleum Engineering degree at Texas A&M University in USA, and we are really delighted to be able to enjoy fruits of his long years of work.

We hope that this book will not only improve technical knowledge of our students, but also improve and enhance the use of Russian language, which we have as a mandatory subject during first four semesters of our Bachelor's studies at our study program.

Thank you Maksim!
